Casts their vote for Presidential Candidates based on Iowa’s Presidential Preference Card (PPC) Results

Votes for the National Party’s Platform, Rules, & Resolutions

who is eligible to
be a delegate?
Any registered Democratic voter in Iowa!
You do NOT need to be a Precinct Committee Person (PCP) or active member of your County Central Committee to run to become a delegate
HOW DOES A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE EARN DELEGATES?
Delegates are proportionally allocated to Presidential Candidates
based on the Presidential Preference Card Results
Candidates must earn at least 15% of the vote to earn delegates
Delegates must submit a pledge of support indicating their preferred presidential candidate when filing their statement of candidacy to run as a delegate
REPRESENTATION GOALS
The Iowa Democratic Party has representation goals to ensure communities that have been denied the right to vote or subjected to discriminatory and exclusionary practices in the past can participate as delegates
The DNC tasks the State Convention with considering the demographic composition of the Iowa Electorate while selecting Delegates to ensure the Delegation reflects the People of Iowa as closely as possible
